February 1865 - Union Gen. Sherman marched through South Carolina on a path of destruction
April 9, 1865 - Lee surrendered at Appomattox Courthouse, Virginia
July 9, 1868 - South Carolina is re-admitted to the Union during Reconstruction
April 1870 - Robert E. Lee visited Charleston...worshipped in Pew #43 at St. Michael's Church
